William A. Veech ’60, professor of mathematics at Rice University, died unexpectedly on August 30, 2016, in Houston. He was born on Christmas Eve in 1938 in Detroit.
Harold R. Burdge Jr. ’60 passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2016. Hal was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, grew up in West Englewood, New Jersey, and graduated from Teaneck High School prior to matriculating at Dartmouth.
Kurt Herman Buerger ’60, Ph.D., died on January 16 after several longstanding illnesses. He retired from San Angelo State College in 2007. His retirement years were compromised first by cancer and then by Alzheimer’s disease.
David Eppens Hodson ’60 died on June 16 in New York City. Dave grew up in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and graduated from the Loomis School before matriculating to Dartmouth.
James Scott Brannen ’60 died in his home in St. Charles, Illinois, on March 16. He was born August 31, 1938 in Evanston, Illinois, to Helen and Burton Brannen, and on July 23, 1965, married Martha.
Kent A. Kubitz ’60 died at home on July 29, 2015. Kent matriculated with the class of 1960 but did not graduate from Dartmouth. In his freshman year Kent played football.
Thomas Walter Wahman ’60 died on February 26 at St. Luke’s Hospital in N.Y.C. He had been suffering from a progressive dementia for some time. “He loved Dartmouth and the class of 1960,” says his wife, Susan.
Bruce Henry Hasenkamp ’60 passed away in his home on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Bruce grew up in Hillsdale, New Jersey, graduating cum laude from Dartmouth.
