John Starkweather Fenno ’48 died on February 16 in Canajoharie, New York, where he had lived since 1963. He graduated from Western High School in Washington, D.C., served in the Navy during World War II, received his B.A.
Allen “Mac” E. McMichael ’48 died in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on February 14. He was born in Morristown, Minnesota, and served in World War II as an enlisted Marine before coming to Dartmouth under the Marine V-12 program.
Richard H. Greene ’48 died on February 7 in Exeter, New Hampshire. Dick came to Dartmouth from Needham (Massachusetts) High School, received his B.A. in 1948 and M.B.A.
Myron Robert Herrick ’48 died of a heart attack in California on February 13. Bob came to Dartmouth in June 1944 and completed two semesters before entering the Navy, where he served as a disbursing storekeeper.
James Herbert Johnson ’48 died in Sarasota, Florida, on July 23, 2010, of a heart attack. He and Betty had lived in Sarasota since his retirement from Southern New England Telephone Co. (SNET) in 1981.
Donald F. Drescher ’48 died in Lavallette, New Jersey, on December 13, 2010. He came to Hanover to join the Marine V-12 unit and, after service with the fleet, returned for his degree in psychology.
Lawrence Carl Pederson ’48 died on May 21 in Thetford, Vermont. He came to Dartmouth in the Navy V-12 program and was commissioned and served in the fleet before returning to campus for his degree in physics.
Walter William Kliebe ’48 died in Arcadia, Florida, on October 30, 2009. He came to Dartmouth in the Navy V-12 program. From Dartmouth he joined Bankers Trust in 1952 and moved to Lehman Bros.
