Girard Harry Franklin ’47 died at age 93 on January 7, 2009. He was living in Charlotte, Vermont. He joined the class as a civilian from Baldwin (New York) High School.
Fred Carmen Frassinelli ’47 of Fairfield, Connecticut, died at age 84 on March 3. He joined the class as one of our civilians from Grail Prep School in the summer of 1943.
Arnold Sprung ’47 of Evergreen, Colorado, died at age 83 on January 3. He came to college in the Naval V-12 unit from Columbia Grammar School in New York City. He majored in physics and participated in swimming.
Frank Louis Porta ’47 of Elkview, West Virginia, died July 27, 2009, in Charleston, West Virginia, where he grew up and attended high school. He served in the U.S.
James Francis Sheekey ’47 died in Palm Coast, Florida, on October 9, 2009. He grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey, and joined the class in the V-12 Navy unit.
Edward Sheldon Davidson ’47 of San Ramon, California, died on August 7, 2009. He joined the class in the naval unit and majored in geology. After service in the Navy he graduated from Cornell in 1947 and earned an M.A.
Joseph Franklin Marsh ’47 died in Athens, West Virginia, on December 11, 2009. He attended Athens High School, enlisted in the Navy and was sent to Dartmouth.
George Raymond Turner ’47 died in Northfield, Vermont, on October 8, 2009. He attended Athol (Massachusetts) High School and joined the class in the naval unit, played baseball and majored in English.
Roger Henry Dickinson ’47 died in Stonington, Connecticut, on November 28, 2008. He grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, and graduated from Taft School.
Herman Gadon ’47 died on August 8, 2009, in LaJolla, California. He joined the class from Worcester (Massachusetts) High School of Commerce, majored in economics and graduated summa cum laude.
