John Groff Truxal ’45 died February 16, 2007. He came to Dartmouth from Phillips Exeter and Hanover. He was a member of Phi Sigma Psi and in the Navy V-12 program.
John William Loud White ’45 of Freeport, Maine, died at Maine Medical Center on April 16, of cancer. John grew up in Portland and Falmouth Foreside, Maine. He came to Dartmouth from Deering High School in Portland.
Robert Chamberlain Joy ’45, M.D., died November 5, 2009, at Kendal at Hanover. He was born August 23, 1923, in White River Junction, Vermont. He came to Dartmouth from Proctor High School.
David Lamphere Kendall ’45 of Dexter, Maine, passed away of a stroke November 9, 2009, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. He grew up “all across the Midwest” before he came to Dartmouth from Boone, Iowa.
Robert Wilson Tirrell Jr. ’45, D.D.S., died peacefully December 29, 2009, with his family at his side. He entered the Dartmouth class of 1945, having attended preparatory schools in New England, Germany and New Jersey.
Richard Stark Conklin ’45 died September 21, 2009, at Valley View Haven near his home in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Dick came to Dartmouth from Norwalk, Connecticut, and the Taft School.
George Moulton French Jr. ’45 died January 23. He came to Dartmouth from Nashua, New Hampshire, as a graduate of Vermont Academy and the son of a member of the Dartmouth class of 1911. George was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa.
Lisle Carleton Carter Jr.’45 died September 10, 2009, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, Virginia, of complications from pneumonia. He had been a resident of Flint Hill, Virginia, since the early 1990s.
Paul Joseph Caravatt Jr.’45 died April 3, 2009, after a brief illness. While at Dartmouth Paul was active in WDCR radio and the Jack-O-Lantern. He was a member of Zeta Psi and Green Key.
Edward Jenkins Martin ’45 of Boise, Idaho, died October 7, 2008, at a Boise hospital. He came to Dartmouth from Ridgefield (Connecticut) High School. In 1960 he was a purchasing agent for Sperry-Rand in Phoenix, Arizona.
