Henry McKinley Barker ’45, a longtime Knoxville, Tennessee, resident, died September 16, 2011, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Frank Wiley Edmands ’45, formerly of Manchester and Sunapee, New Hampshire, died peacefully November 5, 2011, at home after a brief illness. Frank came to Dartmouth from Holten High in Danvers, Massachusetts.
James Robert Grant Jr. ’45 passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home in San Diego on May 3. He had come to Dartmouth from West High in Rochester, New York.
Edward Holmead Harte ’45, a Texas newspaper publishing executive and conservationist who played an important part in preserving vast tracks of open space and stretches of seashore in his state, died of natural causes May 18.
James Francis Houghton ’45, M.D., of Green Valley, Arizona, and Pelican Lake, Minnesota, died of a rare cancer infection June 4. He came to Dartmouth from Lincoln High in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Robert Koslowsky ’45 of Hooksett, New Hampshire, died May 13. “Kos” had been a resident of Palm Beach, Florida, for 11 years, also living on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Blair McClenachan ’45 of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, died April 11. He came to Dartmouth from Chester (Pennsylvania) High School. He was a multi-sport athlete in high school as well as at Dartmouth.
Murray Sams Jr. ’45, Esq., of Deland, Florida, died August 5 in Hollywood, Florida. He came to Dartmouth from Bowes Military Academy. Murray was in Beta Theta Pi at Dartmouth.
Carl Thurston Tourtellot ’45 died December 10, 2010. “Turt” lived recently in Greenville, South Carolina. He came to Dartmouth from Winchester, Massachusetts, and Kimball Union Academy.
Raymond Hicks ’45 of Livingston, New Jersey, died at the nearby West Caldwell Care Center on July 5, 2010. He was born ion Washington, D.C., and came to Dartmouth from Peddie School in New Jersey.
