Class Note 1987
Issue
March - April 2026
Class Note 1987. As I write this, a lovely holiday season is coming to a close. In mid-December my husband, Jeff Foster ’88, and I enjoyed attending the Dartmouth Club of Greater Boston’s holiday a cappella concert, featuring the gender-inclusive campus singing group the Dodecaphonics, at the Tasty Burger in Harvard Square. The music was super, and we enjoyed catching up with classmate Cory Mann and her husband, David Wieneke, and chatting with numerous holiday revelers from other Dartmouth classes.
In November Dan Crisafulli was elected a member of the Summit Common Council, the legislative body for the city of Summit, New Jersey. He received the highest number of votes in any Summit citywide race in at least two decades. Dan’s campaign priorities included improving government efficiency and preserving Summit’s civic culture. Dan has lived in Summit for more than nine years with his spouse of 27 years, Greg Vargas, and their daughter, Caroline.
Since 2008 class oenophile Meg Houston Maker has been carefully cultivating (!) a website focused on wine, food, culture, and place. Her site, Maker’s Table, recently migrated to Substack, and has already been included in a short list of Substacks recommended by The Wall Street Journal. You can find Meg’s insights at makerstable.com. It is a beautiful, thoughtful site, illustrated with Meg’s own artwork and photography. Let me know if you have a Substack, blog, website with original content, or something similar, and I would be happy to highlight you here.
Save the date for our 40th class reunion in Hanover, which will take place June 18-21! (It’s actually our 39th but who’s counting?) Reunion chairs Tim Parker, Gregg Rippey, and Tracey Salmon-Smith have been hard at work planning an awesome get-together with lots of free time for mingling and reconnecting. We will be joined on campus by the classes of ’85 and ’86. Keep an eye out for more details and registration information!
