Class Note 2014

Issue

March - April 2024

Hi, ’14s, and happy spring! I hope 2024 has been off to a great start. In this column, updates from three of our classmates who recently completed graduate school:

Rose Song Wang writes in that after graduating from University of Cambridge Judge Business School this past year, “I’m launching a music-centric residential community project as my next entrepreneurial endeavor. I’d love to figure out a way to plug into the Dartmouth creative community more!”

Mackenzie Bronson graduated last May from Geisel, where highlights included “wonderful friends who partook in numerous adventures (sailing a catamaran in Mexico, mountain biking the White Rim trail, etc.), faculty who taught us with enthusiasm and guided us on their favorite local trails, and thoughtful mentorship from upper-class students and faculty alike.” She is now completing a pediatrics residency at the University of Colorado and writes, “I am very excited to be back in my home state, close to family and friends, and with so many outdoor activities nearby! So far, six months in, I am learning a ton and feeling more confident in my skill set as a physician. And I have befriended multiple Dartmouth alums in Denver along the way!”

Alexander Arnold graduated from Tuck last spring and writes in, “I had an amazing time at Tuck. I was able to learn a new set of skills and ways of thinking while also getting to revisit some Dartmouth traditions such as pong. I was a key member of the Tuck band and when I wasn’t studying or networking, you could find me playing music in practice or on a local stage, such as Hanover’s new venue-bar-restaurant, Sawtooth.” Since graduating Alexander has been able to spend a lot of time with his family back in San Diego and traveled to Colombia for a Tuck friend’s wedding. Given the difficult job market, particularly for his unique background in the music industry, he decided to stay in Colombia for six weeks to work on his Spanish fluency in a language exchange program. After traveling home for the holidays, he is anxious to return to a Spanish-speaking city to continue his learning.

In other news, during the holidays I watched Michelle Khare at the helm of an 18th-century frigate as one of her recent endeavors for her YouTube series, Challenge Accepted. Check out the episode “I Survived 72 Hours at Sea,” especially if you’ve yet to see Michelle take on any of the “world’s most difficult lifestyles and professions” (as described by her YouTube homepage)—ranging from joining a traveling circus to training like a NASA astronaut (one YouTuber describes her as a “real-life Barbie”).

That’s all for now—send me your updates directly or to dartmouth2014classnotes@gmail.com!
