Class Note 2012

Issue

January-February 2024

Hi, ’12s.

We’re wrapping up a whirlwind fall here. Amid flight delays and hectic weeks and lots of work, it’s been a salve to catch moments with Dartmouth friends near and far. Some brief updates below from our class and then a quick goodbye announcement!

Caitlin Nicholson and Emily (Reeves) Nicholson ’15 welcomed baby Cora Faye Nicholson in September. Congratulations to you both on your beautiful new addition to the family.

Emma Fidel’s directorial debut Queen of New York premiered in October at NewFest, a preeminent LGBTQ+ film festival in New York City. Emma’s film, which explored drag queen and activist Marti Cummings’ historic run for New York City Council, was featured as the festival’s New York centerpiece and was certainly a fan favorite. It’s been incredible to watch Emma’s growth as a filmmaker and storyteller since her Dartmouth honors thesis documentary, and I can’t wait to see what she makes next.

While at the time of publishing our new class officers haven’t yet been elected, it’s clear that Dartmouth and our class have seen so much change since Tim Koeth, Jamila Ma, Ray Li, and I were humbled to step into these roles about six years ago. Big thanks to this group and all of our other dedicated officers and best of luck to the new team.

Your next secretary will be taking over the reins soon, but I’ve been grateful for this small opportunity to serve our class and connect with classmates. Keep the notes coming, whether they be life updates, awards, challenges, promotions, moves, or deep thoughts to 12.class.notes@gmail.com.
