Class Note 2012

Issue

September-October 2023

Hi, ’12s! In June more than 450 classmates and guests made their way back up to Hanover to celebrate our 10-year reunion along with the 2013 and 2014 classes. During the weekend we canoed on the Connecticut, learned from classmates during our class panel, reconnected under the class tent, met for late night Trivia, remembered our late classmates, enjoyed the music of Ben Kogan and Still Hill (featuring Jen Freise), and danced together during the silent disco while enjoying food from Boloco, Ramuntos, Tuk Tuk Thai, and Jake’s and drinks from True North Brewing, Bev, and more! You all made even the rainy moments fun—we hope you had a great trip back to Hanover. Special thanks to Tim Koeth, Jamila Ma, Liz Sullivan, Ally Clark, Bianca Zlatea, Chris Calby, Amrita Sankar, Shaun Akhtar, Crishuana Williams, Ray Li, Aleschia Hyde, Faye Keegan, Dana Brisbane, and all of the other classmates who volunteered to put on this event!

I was particularly moved by our class panel, which brought us together in Silsby to kick off the weekend’s festivities. Thank you to the panelists for sharing your stories and giving us all a mo-ment and a nudge to consider how Dartmouth (classes, place, community) has shaped the people we’ve become. Anna-Kay Thomas, producer and development executive; Aaron Limonthas, VP of diversity, equity, inclusion, learning and employee experience at Shipt; Alexi Pappas, Olympic athlete, author, filmmaker; Danielle Coleman, associate product counsel at Super; David Silver, founder of Detroit Horse Power; Giulia Siccardo, sustainability professional; Michael Appeadu, interventional pain medicine fellow, Emory Healthcare; and Sharang Biswas, writer, game designer, artist, adjunct professor. I can’t stop thinking about Alexi’s story of a caterpillar turning into “glop” in its chrysalis before reforming as a butterfly—the supremely difficult days are not just surmountable but necessary, absolutely critical to growth.

Catch you for a jog around Pine Park and a Lou’s apple fritter next time!

Keep the notes coming, whether they be life updates, awards, challenges, promotions, moves, or deep thoughts to me or 12.class.notes@gmail.com. Can’t wait to hear what else is new with you.
