Jessica Long got to hang out with Khadijah (Bermiss) Enoh and Louisa (Thompson) Olushoga in Wisconsin to celebrate Khadijah’s birthday and graduation from medical school in December. Taylor Witten, Margaret Smith ’09, and Jessica continue to connect over food in the Windy City!
David Smith’s art career continues. He is still in Seattle but this year is traveling in May to Flagstaff, Arizona, for ArtX Flagstaff; in July to Plein Air Easton, Maryland (the biggest plein air painting competition in the United States); and in November to Barcelona, Spain, for a residency. He says: “Recently Jon Kroft ’07 bought one of my pieces of the cherry blossoms at the University of Washington campus. You can follow along with my artwork at davidosmithartist.com.
Rachel Strohm and her partner, Tom Wein, recently welcomed son Oliver. They’ve also moved from Nairobi to London and have a lovely guest room for visitors!
John Manning and his wife, Erin (Murray) ’11, had a great trip to Homecoming this past fall, when they spent some nostalgic time with Brian Evans and his wife, Amy, and Brendan Holm and his wife, Brittany. John had a February ski trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with Brian Wang and there was so much powder one day they closed the lifts! He was looking forward to getting back to Hanover for the Buddy Teevens ’79 memorial in May.
Jonathan Silverthorne moved back to the Upper Valley last summer to work at Tuck.
Kelsey Blodget welcomed her third child, Daphne, in October! She and her husband, Steven Lonegan, live in northern New Jersey outside of New York City. Her second book, Secrets of Rose Briar Hall (published under the pen name Kelsey James), came out June 25. Her first book, The Woman in the Castello, was an Indie Next and Library Reads pick and came out last July.
Andrew Berry’s 3-year-old son has ongoing complex medical needs, and he would love to build community with anyone with similar experiences. This update was inspired by a wonderful conversation that he had with Stuart Reid after his article was published in Slate in January.
Adria Buchanan is currently living in Tacoma, Washington, and just celebrated five years as executive director of the Fair Housing Center of Washington fighting housing discrimination. She was recently visited by Zainep Mahmoud and looks forward to more ’08 reunions!
