Class Note 2007

Issue

November-December 2024

Hey, ’07s! We’ve got some great updates this fall.

Annie Bennett and Shane Colegrove welcomed baby Sophie June Colegrove into the family on January 9. Sophie joins big brother Quinn (3) and whippet siblings Rooni (12) and Dobby (9). They say, “We’re still loving the Pacific Northwest life in Seattle and would love to catch up with local classmates!”

Jennifer (Ty) Kohan and her husband, Gabriel, welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Maya Hannah Kohan, on February 18. Maya joins big brothers Ethan (4) and Noah (2), who adore her! The family (including dog Olivia) lives in Bethesda, Maryland.

Miles Yourman wrote in from Newport Beach, California, where he just returned from a Hawaii trip where he and his fiancée, Emily Patterson, got engaged. Congrats, Miles! Miles also shared that he is now nearly 15 years into working as a partner at Knightsbridge Wealth Management. Finally, Miles is working to jumpstart the Dartmouth Club of Orange County and would love to hear from other alumni who are looking to engage in nearby alumni activities.

Frances Cha’s second children’s book, The Goblin Twins: Too Hard to Scare, was published this September, following the first book, The Goblin Twins, which came out in 2023. Fun fact: Her editor at Random House Kids was the editor of The Magic School Bus! The book is about ancient goblin tricksters from Korean folklore discovering modern New York, and she tried to make it as funny as possible. I also want to thank Frances for her help in assembling the Class Notes for the June alumni mag in which we profiled Asian American and Pacific Islander-identifying classmates! It’s so great to be in partnership.

Peter Kenseth wrote in to share news about his podcast,Petworking, which celebrated its one-year anniversary in April. Petworking focuses on pet care and animal health, discussing developments and business issues in those verticals while providing tips for responsible pet ownership. If folks would like to check it out, Peter would love to get more follows of the newsletter on LinkedIn, and it’s also available on YouTube, Spotify, and other podcast platforms.

Laura Pearlstein Mills shared, “My husband, Hywel, daughter Teddy (8), and son Nico (5), were enamored with the Upper Valley when we stopped for a night on our return from Maine. We splurged on the Hanover Inn and had breakfast at Lou’s, where we ran into Alex Bowie and Kyle Judge! We’re back at home in D.C. and life is pretty great. I’m now five years into running my brand strategy consultancy, Cider. We have a good Dartmouth contingent in our lives, including quality time with Sam Rust and family and our neighbor and fellow elementary school parent Charlotte Taylor. Whenever I go to N.Y.C. for work I impose on the hospitality of Lorraine Buhannic and have been known to squeeze in a 6 a.m. power walk with Kaelin Goulet. Stay tuned for news of a branding project underway with Theresa Zhou—forever a fellow TriDelt, currently a Cider client! Sending lots of Big Green love and let me know if you’re in D.C.—always love an excuse to skip out on bedtime and grab a drink!”

And for summer reunions, Margi (Smith) Conn, Hayley (Stevens) Vanbragt, Kerry Snow, and Lindsay (Winingham) Pykocz traveled to Boston in July for the baby shower of Deb (Newburg) McCullough, who was expecting a boy in September. They somehow skirted a global IT outage to enjoy their annual girls weekend full of lots of great food and even some whale watching.
