Class Note 1995
Issue
May-June 2023
Congratulations to Kristian “K.J.” Jhamb! “For my decadal submission to Class Notes, this is certainly a notable update, I’ve gotten hitched! I have found an amazing life partner in my wife, Daniela. We were engaged at the bottom of the Grand Canyon in December 2021 and married in 2022 on Marco Island, Florida, with fellow rowers Alex Morss and Katherine C Taylor ’97 in attendance.” K.J. and Daniela recently moved from Chicago to Naples, Florida. “Please look us up!”
Congratulations also to Kent Dahn. When he turns 50 in June, he’ll be changing diapers on the newest branch of the ’95 tree, baby Whitney Yuna Dahn, born January 1.
Kent also had some difficult news to share. Our classmate Tony Choe suffered two major strokes in 2022 and is in critical condition. “He is completely paralyzed, cannot talk or eat, and at this point is being advised by palliative doctors to sustain comfort levels…but honestly speaking, there is no light at the end of the tunnel or hopes of recovery.” If you would like to help, a gofundme campaign has been set up by several of Tony’s high school classmates—gofundme.com/f/support-tony-choe—to raise funds for his wife, Enju, and their family.
I’m also sorry to report that the bells of Baker Tower ring for another of our classmates. Scott Meacham passed away in January of pancreatic cancer. He lived with his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Camden, in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked as an attorney for the Virginia General Assembly for more than 10 years, drafting legislation and staffing house and senate committees related to natural and historic resources. He had a longtime interest in Dartmouth’s history and architecture and as of October 2022 was still updating his blog, dartmo.com, which he launched as a website in 1995. Scott, you will be missed.
