Class Note 1971

Issue

May-June 2025

Sam Cuddeback, Dick Wentzel, and Willis Newton had a holiday lunch in early December and plotted a gathering of classmates on February 18 to welcome President Beilock to San Francisco. In attendance were Willis and Peggy Newton, Willie Bogan, Steve and Nancy Hoverman, Dick and Ruth Wentzel, Dave Paradise, Sam Cuddeback, and Eric Danoff. President Beilock discussed her “five pillars” focus along with the north star of Dartmouth’s mission. The nearly 600 in attendance appreciated her presentation. Willis and Sam talked a bit about cycling, wondering if Tom Price could handle the Bay Area hills. The whole group shared a brief “organ recital” featuring a few pre-and post-op moments; “All good,” according to Reporter Cuddeback.

Ron Harris and my husband, Jim, and Iran into each other at Charlottesville (Virginia) Opera’s Valentine’s Day presentation of Broadway songs. It reminded me of the wonderful mini-reunion our class had last May focusing on Charlottesville and its many cultural and historic treasures. Come and visit!

Michael Maynard reminds me of the annual MS Walk June 8 in Boston. Our class has been well represented through the years as both walkers and donors because our dear classmate Steve Zrike has this dreadful illness. Find details at https://events.nationalmssociety.org.
