Robert R. Kugler of Haddonfield, New Jersey, has been elected by the national board of directors of the American Cancer Society (ACS) to serve as secretary of the nation’s largest volunteer health organization. Also, Rob has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the society’s advocacy affiliate. During his 40 years of service Rob has received numerous ACS awards, including the Saint George’s Medal, the Silver Chalice Award and the Great American Smoke-out Award. It is that time of year when presidential campaigns move through New Hampshire. Tom Rath of Concord, New Hampshire, has watched the candidates for years. Tom is quoted in The Wall Street Journal, “When you see people start to bring their kids…this guy has a chance to be president.” Tom is a noted state and national political analyst. Nancy Smoyer of Fairbanks, Alaska, received the Alaska Governor’s Veterans Advocacy Award for work done with Vietnam veterans through the years, to include working as a vet center counselor, volunteering at the Wall memorial, and organizing the stand down for veterans in Fairbanks.
