Clark Spaulding Davis ’54

Clark Spaulding Davis ’54 passed away on August 7 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Clark entered Dartmouth from Meadville, Pennsylvania, having attended the Tilton School in Tilton, New Hampshire. He left Dartmouth in the spring of 1953 as a result of illness, graduating from Allegheny College in 1955 with a B.A. in economics and sociology. He then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law for one year. Clark was employed at American Sterilizer for 34 years, working in sales, marketing, international marketing and information technology. He also worked for Ohio Medical Products for eight years, during which time he founded the company’s European operations, living in Brussels, Belgium. In later years he worked for Urban Engineers. Clark was active in the Episcopal Church as a member of the Order of St. Luke’s, a lay Eucharistic minister, lay reader, usher and an Altar Guild Member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. He served on the board of trustees of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was the first male member of the Presque Isle Garden Club and a life member of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. Clark served the class of 1954 as an Alumni Fund volunteer and a member of the executive committee. His bloody marys enlivened the class of ’54 mini reunions. Clark is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna, and daughter Susan.
