Charles R. Hines ’51

Charles R. Hines ’51 died at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on February 25, 2011. He is survived by eight children, one stepchild and 13 grandchildren. His wife, Mary, passed away in 2005. Charlie came to Dartmouth from Norwalk, Connecticut. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army, then spent his career as a research chemist with Jones & Laughlin and Bethlehem Steel companies in Pittsburgh and Erie, Pennsylvania. He retired to Myrtle Beach in 1994.
