Charles Harwood Sellman ’57

Charles Harwood Sellman ’57 passed away on August 22, 2013. He was born in Boston and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts. After graduating from the Belmont Hill School Charlie attended Dartmouth, where he was a member of the varsity hockey team, Phi Gamma Delta and Sphinx. He graduated and later received his M.B.A. from Boston University. Charlie was a highly respected and active member of the Boston business community for many years. He was as much admired for his friendly manner and personal integrity as he was for his long list of professional accomplishments while at Coopers & Lybrand, Barry Wright, A.T. Cross and the Financial Executives Institute. He retired to Naples, Florida, in 2003. He was an avid golfer and a devoted member of the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church in New Jersey, the United Church of Christ in Naples and Saint Dunstan’s Church in Sherborn, Massachusetts. Charlie was committed to his family, his faith and his friends. If you were a friend of Charlie’s, you were a friend for life. Charlie’s first wife, Elaine, died in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children Frank, Jonathan, Jessica, Jason and David and their spouses; seven grandchildren; and Carol’s children John, Sarah and Greg and their families.
