Charles B. Eccles ’51

Charles B. Eccles ’51, who lived and traveled all around Latin America during a 30-year career with Union Carbide Corp., died on August 19, 2021, in Solana Beach, California, where he and his wife, Vonnie, had lived for nearly 40 years. Chuck grew up in New Jersey. At Dartmouth he was a sociology major, a member of Chi Phi, and served on the staff of The Daily Dartmouth. He rowed on the 150-pound crew and was active on the freshman swimming and tennis teams.
