Blaine H. Miller III ’57

Blaine H. Miller III ’57 died on May 30, 2015, in Denver. He and his wife, Sara, moved to Denver in 2013. “Sandy” came to Dartmouth in 1953 from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. At Dartmouth he majored in chemistry and was a member of Chi Phi. He earned his master’s in business administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. Sandy started his business career in Indianapolis with Pittman-Moore. He then began a long employment at Dow Chemical Co. in Indianapolis and, later, in Midland, Michigan. He specialized in research and development and financial management. Sandy retired from Dow in 1991 and finished his business career working for the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center in Midland. Sandy was very active in the Presbyterian Church. He also was an avid runner and was active as a track and cross-country coach. The local track club established an annual Sandy Miller Award in his honor. Sandy leaves Sara, three children and five grandchildren.
