Walter A. Reichert ’34


Walter A. Reichert ’34 died in Naples, Florida, on October 31, 2009. At Dartmouth he was a member of the varsity tennis team and the ski team. He was an economics major. After college he went to work at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., starting in New York City and eventually moving to several other offices in the country before being appointed the Indiana state manager in 1944. In 1952 he formed his own successful insurance company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was an avid golfer, a charter member of Spanish Wells Country Club in Naples, and had several master points in bridge. His wife of 40 years predeceased him. He leaves two sons, a daughter and several grand- and great-grandchildren.
