W. Scribner Jelliffe ’46


W. Scribner Jelliffe ’46 died on September 20, 2010, peacefully in his Hanover home, surrounded by his family. He was a graduate of Dartmouth. After a long career in education, he retired in 1995 to Hanover, where he taught a variety of courses on great books and public affairs in the Institute for Lifelong Education at Dartmouth program. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Romi, their children Thomas, Jenny and Christopher, and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held on September 25, 2010, at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth.
