Sidney Frank Hooper ’34
Sidney Frank Hooper ’34 died on February 14 in Santa Rosa, California, just one month short of his 100th birthday. He leaves his second wife, Eileen. His first wife, Dorothy, died in 1946. He attended Harvard Law School before WW II and later formed his own business, the Wayside Warehouse in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, where he was a pioneer in the mass sale of appliances throughout the Northeast. In his later years he moved to California and remained active in this field. He retired to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, followed by several years in Florida, then Richland, Washington, and most recently he returned to California. Frank had many interests. These included an extensive study of Christian and Buddhist philosophy, enjoying a lot of travel studying architecture with emphasis on European cathedrals, and the study of biology of the human anatomy. Besides his wife, he leaves four children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One daughter predeceased him.
