Robert E. Drawbaugh ’54


Robert E. Drawbaugh ’54 died December 15, 2010, in Grafton, Vermont. A native of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, he entered Dartmouth from Girard College, a preparatory school in Philadelphia. A history major, Don served on the Winter Carnival committee and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. Bob was a well-known person on campus, owing to his achieving All-American status in soccer and his being the cadet colonel of the newly installed AFROTC. After graduation he served with distinction in the Air Force, retiring with the rank of colonel. Following retirement Don taught at Vermont Academy, then worked for Martin Marietta in Lompoc, California. After a move to Bend, Oregon, he and wife Grace moved to Vermont. He is survived by Grace, two children from a former marriage and stepson John.
