Ralph Mark Goodman ’64
Ralph Mark Goodman ’64 died January 7. “Randy” came to Dartmouth from Bronx School of Science, where he was a member of the student council, National Honor Society, glee club and drama club. At Dartmouth he majored in government, was a member of the swimming team and Glee Club and was a brother of Tau Epsilon Phi. After Dartmouth he earned an M.B.A. from the New York University and a law degree from Fordham. Randy began his career as a media salesman and then a stock and commodity futures trader. He found his greatest career passion in practicing law. He practiced for more than 20 years in White Plains, New York, as a partner with the firm of Kurzman and Eisenberg, but primarily in solo practice. Randy also wrote articles for the Westchester Bar Journal. During and following his years in legal practice he taught undergraduate courses in business law at several universities. He credited Dartmouth with fostering his ravenous intellectual appetite. Through his adult life he loved reading about law, international relations, politics, philosophy, evolutionary psychology and scientific advances. Randy preferred to plan family vacations that revolved around outdoor activities and explorations of natural beauty. His family of four traveled to ski resorts and beaches and did mostly outdoor sightseeing.
