Leanne Eberly Jordan ’83

Leanne Eberly Jordan ’83 died March 13 after a seven-year battle against breast cancer. Leanne was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 7, 1960. She graduated from Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire, and spent the next year as an exchange student in Hamburg, Germany. At Dartmouth Leanne was a German major, captain of women’s crew and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Fire & Skoal. Leanne attended a dual medical program at Dartmouth/Brown Medical School and earned her doctor of medicine from Brown in 1989. During these years she rowed for URI, Brown and Boston Rowing Clubs. She won gold medals in Canadian and U.S. national rowing regattas. Denver was Leanne’s next stop, for her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado Medical Center. During her first week in Denver Leanne met the man who would become her husband, Harald Jordan. They married in 1991 on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. Living in several cities while Leanne was a major in the Air Force from 1994 to 1998, the Jordan family was drawn to Durango, Colorado, to raise their children. In 1998 Leanne joined Four Corners Ob-Gyn, where she developed a thriving medical practice and touched the lives of many families as a doctor. Leanne is survived by Harald, children Emily ’14 and Kelsey, parents Roger and Sandra Eberly and siblings Lori and Rex.
