Edward Rawson Patterson ’41


Edward Rawson Patterson ’41 died on April 4. At Dartmouth Ed was a member of Delta Upsilon, served on the Interfraternity Council and was a member of the Outing Club. During World War II he served for five years in the Air Corps, retiring with the rank of colonel. Ed was married to Frances Lindsay for 65 years. Ed was a Dartmouth club president (1954-57) and then class agent (1963-69). In his business career he served as president of the Patterson Steel Co. until it was sold in 1969. He was a dedicated Tulsa, Oklahoma, citizen, a member of its chamber of commerce, president of the Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club, and president of the Tulsa Boys Home and many other Tulsa civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Frances, daughter Lindsay, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
