Donald Leslie Kersting ’43


Donald Leslie Kersting ’43 died August 3, 2009. A native of New Jersey, Don graduated from the Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland. He later attended Dartmouth, Miami University, Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During WW II he served with the AAF transport command in the South Pacific. Don was president of Kersting Brown & Co. in New York City, served on the board of the Christian A. Johnson Foundation and was an officer of the American Association of Fundraising Council and the American Association of Aging Research. Music, gardening and art absorbed most of his leisure time. Don was a class agent from 1984 to 1986. Don is survived by his wife, Doris “Dee,” children Mark ’75, Matthew and Leslie and three grandchildren. A cousin, Richard Kersting, was a member of the class of ’42.
