Clark Voorhees Judge ’46
Clark Voorhees Judge ’46 died May 26. Judge was a standout athlete at Dartmouth as a member of the undefeated cross-country team (including Heptagonal and Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic championships) and of the two-mile relay team that won the N.Y.C. Knights of Columbus meet, Eastern Intercollegiates, National AAU title and Penn relays. Judge was undefeated in the two-mile, winning the Heptagonal and Eastern Intercollegiate championships. He competed on the varsity tennis team and the New Hampshire state semi-pro basketball championship team, where he was named to the all-tourney roster. Judge majored in history at Dartmouth, where he was mentored by professor Lew Stilwell, and earned a master’s in history at the University of Pennsylvania. His career in the Marine Corps—he retired in 1973 as a colonel—began at Dartmouth in the V-12 program during World War II, when he and other enlistees trained at the College and marched to classes. His years at the College were interrupted by a brief deployment to China. Dartmouth relatives include sons Wade ’72 and Clark Jr. ’73, son-in-law Hank Paulson ’68, granddaughter Amanda Paulson ’97 and grandsons Kyle ’07 and Clark ’12. The family asks that any gifts be made to the Friends of Dartmouth Track and Field.
