Arthur F. Baldensperger Jr. ’51
Arthur F. Baldensperger Jr. ’51, a long-time Arizonan, died at his home in Glendale on May 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, four children, two stepchildren and 10 grandchildren. “Baldy” loved selling and was especially effective at teaching others the fine points of successful salesmanship. He held senior sales and marketing positions with several corporations, including Motorola. In 1971 he founded More Sales Inc., representing manufacturers of electronic product lines for 25 years before retiring in 1996. Baldy came to Dartmouth from Fredonia, New York, following in the footsteps of his father, Arthur Sr. ’23. Baldy left Dartmouth to enlist in the U.S. Navy for two years before resuming college at SUNY Buffalo. Golf was a lifelong passion. Baldy was never happier than when he was meeting, helping and exchanging jokes with people in any setting. He never met a stranger! In retirement he was an active volunteer in the Sky Harbor Navigator program at the Phoenix, Arizona, airport, helping bewildered travelers navigate the complexities and frustrations of air travel.
