Alfred L. McCray ’62


Alfred L. McCray ’62 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on May 15. A graduate of Oakwood High School in Dayton, Al majored in mathematics at Dartmouth, was an enthusiastic member of the Chess Club and DOC and particularly enjoyed golf and skiing. Following graduation Al studied law at the University of Michigan and received an LL.B. in 1965. He practiced law with the firm of McCray and McCray in Dayton until he retired in 2003. Throughout his life Al continued to love golf—he was a longtime member of Sycamore Creek Country Club—and skiing, particularly in Vail, Colorado, with family and friends. He was known for his good sense of humor and his avocation as a poet. Al is survived by his wife, Maria; daughter Holly and her husband, Erik; son Nicholas and his wife, Laura; and two grandchildren.
