Albert Nathaniel Drake ’43


Albert Nathaniel Drake ’43 died January 28. He attended Newark Academy and graduated from Deerfield Academy, where he participated in football, baseball and basketball. At Dartmouth “Ducky” majored in economics, was a member of Beta Theta Pi and the Vigilantes and played basketball, football, lacrosse and intramural athletics. Ducky left Dartmouth in January 1942 to enlist in the U.S. Army. After discharge from the Army he became a manufacturer’s representative and lived in many places on the East Coast, as well as in California and Hawaii. Ducky was very active with the Warehousemen’s Association, serving as president of New Jersey division in 1951, president of the New York division in 1953 and director of the American Warehousemen’s Association in 1956. In his free time Ducky enjoyed golf and swimming and was interested in the arts, community activities, travel, financial planning and, most of all, the environment. Ducky was separated from three wives. He is survived by two sons, two daughters and four grandchildren.
