Adolph J. Berger ’51


Adolph J. Berger ’51 died at home in Coconut Grove, Florida, on March 25. Born in Danville, Pennsylvania, and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, he prepared for Dartmouth at Cheshire Academy. He pledged Pi Lambda Phi, sang in the Glee Club, swam on the freshman team and was a Tuck-Thayer graduate in 1952. After serving in the U.S. Air Force and moving to south Florida, “Ady” entered the home-building industry, married Helene Reiback and started a family of a son and daughter. He and a brother-in-law founded Pasadena Homes in 1957 and built the company into one of Broward County’s leading homebuilders and land developers. He was president of the South Florida Builders Association and served a number of charitable and community organizations through the years, including many years on the board of directors of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Ady is survived by Helene, son Mark, daughter Bonnie and four grandchildren.
