Thomas Ford Swick ’43

Thomas Ford Swick ’43 died November 11, 2016. Tom grew up in Little Falls, New Jersey, and graduated from the Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey, where he was on the staff of the school paper and was on the football, tennis and swimming teams. At Dartmouth he was a member of Bones Gate and Delta Tau Delta. After graduating he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. Tom spent most of his career in the advertising business, with various agencies, and was president of Wesley Advertising Agency, a subsidiary of Shulton. He eventually transitioned into the commodities business and was with Smith Barney Harris Upham at the time of his retirement. He played tennis year-round, skied in New England and spent summers in Martha’s Vineyard. He married Jane Laurence Haeberly, from whom he was subsequently divorced. He is survived by children Thomas Jr., Susan Wallace and Robert; stepchildren Lisbeth, Jennifer and John; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
