Ralph Gardner Griffin Jr. ’54

Ralph Gardner Griffin Jr. ’54 passed away on June 13 in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Ralph came to Dartmouth from Hamburg, New York, where he attended Hamburg High School. He did not graduate from Dartmouth, but transferred to the University of Buffalo. He served two years in the U.S. Army. Ralph worked for 32 years in corporate finance at Chesebrough Ponds and Health Tex. He retired at age 55. He was active in the Old Lyme community, performing with Cappella Cantorum and serving as chairman of SCORE and as a board member of the Old Lyme Visiting Nurses and the Old Lyme planning board. He is survived by his wife, Arminta, and children Daniel, Deborah, Denise, and Rebecca.
