Singular Vision

A selection of images by photographer Ralph Steiner, class of 1921

“Be intensely yourself” was the advice Ralph Steiner, class of 1921, gave to aspiring photographers. In a career that spanned seven decades, the artistic acrobat leapt from one genre to another. He produced stunning images notable for their odd angles, abstraction, and bizarre content.
