Norman T. Ross ’54

Norman T. Ross ’54 passed away on November 9, 2016, in Clearwater Florida. Norman came to Dartmouth from Wellesley, Massachusetts, where he attended Wellesley High School. At Dartmouth he was a history major and a brother of Phi Gamma Delta. After graduation he joined State Mutual Life Assurance Co., working there for 22 years, finally serving as director of purchasing and communications. In 1976 he joined Telephonics, a subsidiary of Northern Telecom, where he served in various senior management positions, including sales, marketing support, administration and operations. Norman retired in 1991 and moved to Oldsmar, Florida, where he founded Fundamental Investing, a financial services company whose activities included a monthly mutual fund letter and research and analysis of new products from financial companies. Norman was an active tennis player for many years at Countryside Country Club, where he served as chair of the board and board member. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and children Lynne, Wendy, Craig and Scott.
