Richard D. Mason ’51
Richard D. Mason ’51 died on November 15, 2016, at his home in Severna Park, Maryland. He is warmly remembered as an artist and photographer, a lacrosse and tennis player, a generous volunteer in his community and an ardent fan of all Baltimore sports teams. Dick played lacrosse at Dartmouth and was a member of Sigma Nu and the Marching Band. His major in geography and cartography was put to good use in his work with the Army Map Service following graduation. After service as an enlisted man in the U.S. Army, Dick spend 40 years in sales and product management positions in the building products industry. His community involvements included service on the board of Kinder Farm Park and as a Pathfinder volunteer at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, election judge and avid bridge player. Dick is survived by his wife, Olive, three children and eight grandchildren. His father, Donald, class of 1913, and brother Donald Jr. ’46 also attended Dartmouth.
