Lee Romanow ’43
Lee Romanow ’43 died July 23, 2016, at his home in Natick, Massachusetts. Lee grew up in Natick and graduated from the Boston Latin School where he was a member of the Student Council, debate team, dramatic club and the track team. At Dartmouth Lee majored in English and managed the freshman baseball team. After graduation Lee—one of five brothers who served in the military and returned home safely—joined the Army’s 34th Infantry Division in North Africa and Italy. At the end of the war he served as a public relations officer. Home again, Lee earned a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1948, joined a Boston law firm and married Mary Rozak in 1949. In the early 1950s he and some associates formed their own firm, Sullivan, Romanow and Wallace. In the early 1960s he returned to solo practice for a few years before joining John Mullahy in a new firm. During this period he was president of the South Middlesex Bar Association. Ten years later his son, Michael, joined him in a firm known as Romanow and Romanow. An avid gardener and great cook, Lee also enjoyed traveling with Mary, though being at home with family and friends was their favorite occupation. Mary died in 2008. Lee is survived by children Dean, Louise, Michael and Emily and their spouses and seven grandchildren.
