John C. Lewis ’55
John C. Lewis ’55 died on September 11, 2016. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he came to Dartmouth from Concord High School in New Hampshire. John majored in psychology and was a member of Green Key, Kappa Kappa Gama, Forensic Union, Psychology Club and ROTC. After graduation John pursued a 24-year career as an Army officer. He served in Korea, Okinawa, Vietnam and Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Belgium. He received many commendations and medals and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He then earned a master’s in organizational development from Pepperdine University and worked for Phillips Semiconductors in Sunnyvale, California. In 1992 John retired to Florida, where he enjoyed golf, bridge, boating and volunteering with the Saratoga Resource Center. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean, daughter Sandra and son Steven.
