Edward A. Keible Jr. ’65
Edward A. Keible Jr. ’65 passed away March 19. Classmates remember him as “Fast Eddie,” a standout on the gridiron. He was a standout on many other fields, as well—in service to his country, as an engineer with several patents and successful in business and as a generous ’65 volunteer. Ted Bracken ’65 remembered Ed’s “intelligence, intensity and loyalty to all things Dartmouth” and said it “made him one of my most cherished Dartmouth classmates. I will miss him dearly.” Ed Khoury ’65 noted, “Ed was a force to be reckoned with as a linebacker and all around great football player. What amazed me were his academic abilities. He wrestled with engineering, while still being an outstanding athlete.” Ed graduated Dartmouth and Thayer with a master’s in engineering, served in the Air Force in Vietnam and went on to Harvard Business School as a Baker scholar. He had a successful career with Raychem Corp., then founded Endwave Corp. and successfully led its IPO in 2000. He was part of two wineries, Alpha Omega and AXR. In his honor the recent Dartmouth Silicon Valley and Bay Area wine extravaganza included a cabernet labeled “Fast Eddie.” Ed served on the Thayer School of Engineering board of overseers and as class head agent, alumni councilor, major fundraiser for the second 1965 Bunkhouse at Mount Moosilauke and mini-reunion coordinator. He will be missed.
