Class Note 2007

Issue

May-June 2022

Sam Beattie and his wife, Julie Beattie, welcomed their daughter (and first child), Sophie Taylor Beattie, on Christmas Eve. Congratulations! Sam nonchalantly mentions that “2022 has been adjusting to being new parents but otherwise things have stayed relatively the same. I am working for an electronic arts game studio in Sacramento, California, while living in Seattle. So I’m officially working from home for the foreseeable future, which has been a huge help with a baby in the house.”

Julia Bernstein and her husband, Robert Schwartz, welcomed Ethan Bennett Schwartz on January 6. Baby Ethan, big sister Mirielle, and their parents recently moved to Scarsdale, New York, where they look forward to playdates with other Dartmouth babies in the N.Y.C. area.

Kristin (Lieske) Bryan, a data privacy and cybersecurity litigator at Squire Patton Boggs LLP, was elected to the firm’s partnership effective January 1. She reports that she and husband, Daniel Bryan ’05, are doing well and are looking forward to the reunion in June and seeing old friends.

Moira (Sullivan) Gallagher had a baby boy! Eagan Frederick Gallagher was born on August 6, 2021, and joins big brother George, who is ecstatic to have a baby around. The family continues to make Anchorage, Alaska, home.

George Oh has begun marching with the Atlanta Freedom Band, a group of LGBTQ+ bands. The group participated in a small Mardi Gras parade, which George shares “was lots of fun. The concert band is gearing up for a performance in a couple of weeks so I’m rehearsing for that too.”

Yours truly, Jaime Padgett, was elevated to senior counsel, high exposure at Uber Technologies Inc., where I now manage the company’s portfolio of high-exposure claims and litigation for the eastern United States.

Maryanna Quigless and her partner had a baby, Mason Vincent Pooler-Quigless! He was born last year (March 14) in Oakland, California. (She sent in pictures and let me tell you: He is adorable.)

Christina Vilaseca writes in for the first time ever (!) with all the news. She shares that she has been working as a civil rights attorney for the County of San Diego since 2013; she and her husband welcomed son Miles in July 2018 and daughter Sloane in October 2020; and this summer they will be moving to Paris, France, where her husband has accepted a job opportunity with EDF Renouvelables. Christina is planning to pursue attorney contract work and hoping to learn a bit about the wine industry out there, which has piqued my curiosity.

Like reading these updates? Imagine what it would be like to…wait for it…get them in person, straight from the source! Come join your ’07 classmates, along with the ’06 and ’08 classes, at our 15-year cluster reunion in Hanover June 17-19.
