“Ain’t nothin’ gonna break our stride. No pandemic gonna slow us down. Oh no, we got to keep on moving.” Indeed! Y’all have been bus-sy!

Julien Almonte has been living in Philadelphia for the past two and a half years and became a licensed psychologist this year (hooray!). He has been managing the pandemic by facetiming frequently with Abby DeBellis, who lives in Seattle. “We reminisce about our Dartmouth days all the time and can’t wait to meet up again!”

Alex Barnett was elected partner at Alston & Bird LLP! She defends employers in state and federal actions, conducts internal investigations, and advises on employment-related issues in corporate transactions.

Jennifer (Ty) Kohan and her husband, Gabriel, welcomed their first child, Ethan David Kohan, on October 10! They moved with their dog, Olivia, to the suburbs (Bethesda, Maryland)!

Clare Louise Masters joined Laura Flannery Masters’ family on June 13, 2020. “She has been a bright light during this year and my husband, Colin, and I have been so grateful for her health and spunky spirit. She and her big brother, Henry, help remind us of what is truly important (as well as keep us quite busy)!”

George Oh has been playing virtual Dungeons and Dragons weekly with Joe Wytrzes, Zack Pierce ’06, Nick Connizzo ’06, and Ryan Lee ’06. In true George fashion, he says, “Oh shoot, I also got promoted to senior chemist.” Once the pandemic ends, he and Matt Garner are going to take a long vacation, with Matt wearing silly hats the entire time.

Carrie Bradshaw sends an update: Derrick Smith is now the chief development officer for Nemours Children Health in Delaware. With all the balls he’s juggling—new job, new boys, and new toys—I couldn’t help but wonder, are all eyes on him in the center of the ring just like a circus? As Jacques Hebert is planning his move from New Orleans to Minnesota, I asked myself, does he really want to go from the Big Easy to the Big Freezy? With Jesse Shaw’s recent engagement to a Canadian and planned move to Brussels for the U.S. State Department, I wondered, is the state of diplomacy really getting to the state of his heart? Finally, as John Valdez plans to move into the home of his late grandparents in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood with his husband, Chris Abrecht ’08, I thought, this Johnny didn’t fall too far from the block.

Dax Tejera and his wife welcomed their firstborn, Sofia Melffi, on November 30! He shares quite the labor story: One evening after returning home from producing ABC’s This Week he suggested Veronica turn on the Christmas tree lights. Right as she stood up to do that, her water broke! Sofia was born a few hours later on the same day as her uncle and godfather, Dax’s brother.

Liz (Keenan) Tichenor published her first book, The Night Lake: A Young Priest Maps the Topography of Grief. She’s serving as the rector of an Episcopal church in the Bay Area and adventuring there with her husband, Jesse Tichenor ’06, their kids, and pandemic puppy.

Pooja Viswanath has been “thinking back to how lucky I was to have celebrated my bachelorette weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona, with Ione Curva, Susie (Chung) Criscimagna, Natalie Kim, Augusta Niles, Lyndsey Moran, and Ashley (Halpin) Karr just a few weeks before the world shut down. My wedding, supposed to happen a few weeks later, was postponed. Luckily, I was still able to marry my dear husband, Joseph Alberts (Rice ’07, UT Law ’12), in front of a local judge and our immediate families!”
