Class Note 2007

Admit it: You flip straight to the Class Notes as soon as you get your Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. Now you don’t have to wait until the next issue to get the updates you want! Follow our class Instagram, @dartmouth2007s, today for more updates (big and small!) and the opportunity to see all of your favorites’ faces!

William Blomstedt published a book, Foraging Afar! It recounts his experience working with commercial beekeepers during a decade of global travel to more than 50 countries, capturing moments of tragedy and comedy, like when his hives toppled off of the truck in the middle of a Texas city! He is currently living and, of course, keeping bees in Slovenia, the beekeeping capital of the world.

In October Kate Davison met up with John Shellito, Haley Bolin Shellito ’08, and their two kids; Laura Sheinkopf and her husband, Mark Petersen; and Sean Garren for a fun mini-reunion on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. Later that month Kate raced at the Head of the Charles in the Dartmouth alumnae eight. Her crew—which spanned the classes of ’07 to ’18—placed second, their highest finish yet! All around it was a great Head of the Charles weekend for Dartmouth rowing. Congrats, Kate and Co.!

Paul DuPuy and Britta Wunderlich got married in February in Sonoma, California! They had a great contingent of Dartmouth friends attend, including Kelsey Helland, Greg Kreisher, Jeff Camhi, Weizhan Tan, Ryan Chesley ’06, James Seidman ’06, and Paul’s dad, Ric DuPuy ’64!

Justin Martini ’05 and Allie (Boyles) Martini welcomed baby No. 3, Quinn Hanover Martini, on Labor Day. Big sibs Hayden and Charlie are obsessed with their new baby sister. “We didn’t make it to Homecoming this year, but we’re happy to ‘come home to Hanover’ in our own way. We’re going on three years in Darien, Connecticut, and spreading the Dartmouth love—our next door neighbor’s oldest son just started as a ’23!”

I’m happy to report that Sandra Sidi advises that life is back to normal! She is now 11 months post-stem cell transplant, which you may recall our class played a critical role in making happen. She walks several miles a day and, ever the optimist, jokes that she even has a decent haircut again! On a professional front, Sandra had her first piece, “Get A Weapon,” about her time in Baghdad in 2007 and 2008, published in The Atlantic in the October 2019 issue! Good news all around!
