Class Note 2007
Happy fall, ’07s! The countdown continues: eight months away from our 10-year reunion!
First up, Laura Pearlstein Mills writes, “I’ve moved with my family back to my hometown of Washington, D.C., to join my aunt in running her business. Relish is a luxury women’s boutique in Georgetown that has been bringing the most exciting fashion from around the world to the women of Washington for the past 20 years. I’m looking forward to being a part of the next 20!”
Melina Marmarelis and husband Sam Takvorian finished residencies in Boston and moved to Philadelphia for oncology fellowships just in time to welcome their daughter, Stella, to the world on July 30! “Lots of change but we are enjoying exploring a new city and would love to hear from any of you who are in Philly!”
Kate Davison shares, “This July Seth Cohen and I had our wedding at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, New Hampshire. Joining us were fellow ’07s Laura Bozzuto, Dave Faherty, Kelli Hvorecny, Tamer Shabaneh, Dan Schneider, Severina Ostrovsky, Christina Luccio, Lauren Hassouni, Annie Bennett, Shane Colegrove, John Shellito, Sean Garren and Paul Wright (and his cello!). Dartmouth was well represented, with members of the classes of ’02, ’04, ’06, ’08, ’09 and ’10 and several graduate students also in attendance. Liz Vaughan ’08 wowed the crowd as the lead singer of the fabulous wedding band Do I Do!”
Sam Beattie says, “The good news I have is that my job search in Seattle has come to an end. It took a while, but on August 29 I started a contract design gig at PopCap Games in downtown Seattle. So that’s a big relief!”
Kirsten Ford announces, “Shala (Byers) Burroughs and her husband, John, welcomed a beautiful baby boy—Bryce Preston Burroughs— into the world on August 1. Everyone is doing well and several Dartmouth ’07s have already had the honor of meeting Bryce.” She also shares, “As the song goes, the farmer picked his wife and I married Daniel Ford (Harvard ’08) on May 14! The wedding was held on a horse farm just outside of Louisville, Kentucky, and Dartmouth representation was strong. Lorraine Buhannic and Mirelle Phillips were part of the bridal party, as were Diana Zhang ’06 and Jason Moore ’05, and it was incredibly special to have each of them standing by my side. Moira Sullivan and Lisa Caldeira made the trek all the way from Alaska and were joined by Caroline Barker, Amanda Brown, Katherine Day, Jess Chervin, Shala (Byers) Burroughs, Amy (Kurtz) Krefman ’06, Erica Jones ’08, Schuyler Mapp-Williams ’08 and Sean Macrae ’08. We danced until midnight and raised more than a few glasses of bourbon. It was a true honor to have so many amazing Dartmouth friends come from all over to celebrate with us.”
In July Justin Martini ’05 and Allie (Boyles) Martini moved to Darien, Connecticut, and welcomed their second child, Charles Webster Martini. “See what we did there? We’d love to catch up with any alums in Fairfield County.”
Finally, Nicole Cannizzaro writes, “I’m so excited to be back in New England! First up: a trip to Hanover and dinner show at the ‘Lodj’ with Liana Heldman ’05!” That’s all, friends. Hoping your 2016 goes out with a bang.
