Class Note 2007
Hello, ’07s! We’re about 10 months away from our 10-year reunion—crazy! Onto the notes.
John Valdez celebrated his bachelorette party in New Orleans with his best yaya-maids.
Deborah Wassel shares, “After doing appellate work for the past four years, I recently briefed, argued and won my first case in the New York Court of Appeals, the highest court in New York. (Dan Racic came with me to Albany to watch me argue in front of the panel of seven judges!) It was definitely intense, but I was grateful to be able to do it since it’s an opportunity that very few attorneys have. The best part is that it creates new law for the entire state!”
Yuki Kondo Shah writes, “My husband, Phil, and I welcomed baby Sayuri, our daughter, on June 18! We’re resting in Arizona before gearing up to go back to Beijing.”
Amy (Rolfvondenbaumen) Dance announces, “My husband and I welcomed our baby girl Leah Estelle Dance to the world on May 24!”
Christine Huggins is running her nonprofit and explains, “June is Aphasia Awareness Month! Please consider donating to Aphasia Recovery Connection. Thanks for your donations, Katie Nunan, Christina Luccio, Allison Wilson, Julia Bernstein and Amanda Greenberg.”
Charlie Cunningham and Allison Citro-Cunningham got married in Northampton, Massachusetts, on May 29. They were accompanied by groomsman Matthew Pallone, groomsman Kevin Shen and bridesmaid Grace Chua. Also in attendance were Nicolai Buhr, Matthew Maccani and George Oh, as well as a decade of Dartmouth alumni ranging from the class of ’99 to the class of ’09. Allison and Charlie now live in Falmouth, Maine, with their two cats, Beansprout and Spot. After getting his Ph.D. at Tufts in 2015, Charlie is teaching mathematics at Bowdoin College, while Allison just graduated from Boston University with her M.P.H. in epidemiology. “Everyone should come visit Maine!”
David Zubricki reports, “After a tremendous two and a half years I am leaving Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago to start at Centerview Partners in N.Y.C.! So I’m changing cities and shifting from law to investment banking, but I’ll still focus primarily on distressed businesses, special situations investments and restructuring generally. My fiancée, Catherine Cabrera (UTexas ’09), will come join me in N.Y.C. later this fall or winter after she wraps up her M.B.A. at Chicago Booth.”
This summer Rebecca Hoyte is finishing some prerequisite courses before student teaching in the fall and otherwise hanging around Mystic County, Connecticut.
That’s it for now, ’07s! Hope you’re enjoying the last few weeks of summer!
