Class Note 2007
Happy summer, ’07s!
Severina Ostrovsky writes, “I got married to Michael Skopets in Miami on Valentine’s Day at the Thalatta Estate. In attendance from Dartmouth were Christina Luccio, Lauren Hassouni, Sean Garren, Whitney (Dickerson) Gerkin, Jordan (Kutcher) Grant, Sahiba Krieger and Carolina Velaz ’08. We kept the wedding true to ourselves, including vodka shots on a life-size bear ice sculpture and some insanity by way of Brazilian dancers on stilts. Still recovering!”
In February Moira Sullivan moved back to her hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, to take a new position with the Anchorage Economic Development Corp. She is delighted to be back home and to see other alums in the Anchorage area! Along with co-head agent Justin Zalkin, she was also recently appointed to represent the alumni community on the Dartmouth College Fund committee starting this summer.
Kale Bongers shares, “In March I got engaged to my girlfriend, Nicole Neverman. Then in May graduated with my M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa after eight years and moved to start residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan.”
Chris Cahill exclaims, “My wife, Erica, and I celebrated the birth of our daughter, Rose Pasciullo Cahill, on April 18!”
Anna Cruz announces, “I will be graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, this May with a Ph.D. in Near Eastern studies, with a focus on Arabic literature, and I’m moving to Boston in August to start a postdoctoral fellowship at Tufts.”
This May Kate Hacker graduated from the M.D.-Ph.D. program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her Ph.D. dissertation focused on the consequences of epigenetic alterations in kidney cancer and she is excited to be staying in Chapel Hill for a urology residency at UNC Health Care, with Sophie Spencer as one of her upper-level residents! She would love to hear from anyone who finds himself or herself in the Chapel Hill/Durham area!
Ji Yeon Choe shares, “I got married two years ago to Beomseok Kim and have an almost-10 month-old daughter, Anna Catherine Kim.”
Nicole Cannizzaro writes, “Starting in August I will be at the Harvard Graduate School of Education pursuing my Ed.M. in higher education. I am eager to continue working with and to better support first-generation-to-college students as they transition to and journey through higher education. I’m also looking forward to be back in my home state of Massachusetts! Carrie Rosenblum ’10 will also be a member of my cohort and I am excited to get to know her as well.”
Hope you’re all thriving!
