Class Note 2007

Issue

May - June 2016

Happy spring, ’07s! Moira Sullivan writes, “I’m moving to Anchorage, Alaska, in January to start a new job at the Anchorage Economic Development Corp. Looking forward to being back in my hometown and catching up with other ’07s in Alaska!” Sonia Faruqi shares, “I will be speaking at Dartmouth in an event organized by the Rockefeller Center on Thursday, April 14 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.” After house hunting for almost a year, Amy (Do) Bender and her husband have purchased a home in the Bay Area and are excited to move in this summer.

Sam Beattie announces, “Julie and I are all moved into our new place in Seattle, and while the job hunt is ongoing, we’re loving our new neighborhood in Ballard. Looking forward to seeing more Dartmouth people in the area!” Luis Dinnella-Borrego relates, “I am currently working as an adjunct professor of history at Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey. My book The Risen Phoenix: Black Politics in the Post-Civil War South will be published on July 15. My book will focus on the lives and careers of six black congressmen after the Civil War and the ways in which they navigated the difficult political climate of the American South in order to articulate and defend the rights of their embattled and newly freed constituents.”

Christine (Terada) Schuricht writes in, “My husband, Keith Schuricht ’05, and I welcomed our son, River Kohsei Schuricht, to the world in December. We can’t wait to show River his namesake, the Connecticut River, where we had our first date!”

Whitney (MacFadyen) Flynn graduated from Tuck in June. “Andrew Flynn and I have decided to stay in the Upper Valley! Looking forward to seeing Dartmouth friends when they are in town.”

Finally, on a personal note, Jesse Shaw received his onward assignment—a consular tour at the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip—our mission to the Palestinian territories. Looking forward to seeing friends in the region come September 2017!

Hope you’re all well! Cheers.
