Class Note 2007
Jan - Feb 2015
Happy New Year, ’07s! Here we go!
Luis Dinnella-Borrego writes in, “Over the summer I traveled along with my seminary on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from August 5 through August 28. We visited many places over those three weeks—going throughout Galilee to the Sinai Desert in Egypt, into Jordan, where we saw the site of Christ’s baptism, and spent considerable time in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. It was truly an eye-opening experience.”
Sonia Faruqi shares, “My book will be published in July 2015. The title is Project Animal Farm: An Accidental Journey into the Secret World of Farming and the Truth about our Food. It’s already available for pre-order on Amazon. I also got married to Aamer Hasham on June 22, 2014, in the Toronto area. Several Dartmouth alumni were in attendance, including Sofia Faruqi, Samantha Wu, Duberliz Anaya, Shamara Baidoobonso ’06, Phuong Luong, Ashley Henry and Thomas Van Dyke Musser ’05.
Vera Sticker was awarded her master’s in early childhood special education this summer and now works for the office of specialized instruction at D.C. public schools. She lives in Arlington, Virginia, has a weekly trivia team with three other Dartmouth alums and would love to hear from more! “Find me on Facebook or LinkedIn, fellow ’07s!”
Sam Routhier reports that he had a great time going out to dinner with college friends Charlie Guthrie and Nate Raines in New York City in October. Nate is now in his fourth year of medical school and getting ready to be a doctor in internal medicine, while Charlie is working hard to balance a new data science master’s at NYU with his job in data visualization at The New York Times.
Arielle (Rodman) Langer writes, “I got married to Nathaniel Langer, a Middlebury grad, in September. Elizabeth Yepsen was our officiant and Melina Marmarelis, Milene Kennedy Crispin and Blair (Burgreen) Chan were bridesmaids. There was a big Dartmouth crew, including my new cousin Lucas Schulz ’08, Th’09, Chris Chan, newlyweds Ashley Thorfinnson and Chris Barth ’08 and Rachel (Karpf) Reidy and Brent Reidy ’05.”
Kristina Trygstad-Saari says, “I recently took the head Nordic ski coach position at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, where I’m working with fellow Dartmouth alums Karl Johnson ’06 and Kevin Francis ’06. Dartmouth skiing has invaded MSU!”
Tegan (Vay) Palma and Chris Palma welcomed their son, Avery William, at 12:24 a.m. on October 12. They were planning a visit that weekend with Lucy (Whidden) Hampton and Jon Hampton ’05 and when Avery decided to make his appearance a bit earlier than expected were thrilled to introduce him to his Dartmouth family when he was just minutes old.
Jenna Farleigh married Todd Yezefski ’04 (“also known as hot cycling coach to many Kappa Delta Epsilons”) on August 23 at Alderbrook Resort and Spa in Union, Washington. “Many amazing Dartmouth alums were in attendance, including Lindsay Mann, Courtney Calise Temple, Kristina Trygstad-Saari, Linden Mallory, Mikey Sinnott, Hannes Thum, Moira Sullivan and Esther Perman.”
And finally, La Von Morgan-Mejia and Rafael Mejia ’06 welcomed a little girl, Audrey Belle, on September 16!
A big congratulations to all of you! And to all my ’07s, may 2015 bring you peace, love and happiness.
