Class Note 2007

Issue

Sept - Oct 2014

Hello, ’07s! Hope your summer was beautiful and memorable and that you got a chance to attend a mini-reunion in July!

Ryan O’Connor writes, “At the end of July I will be relocating from Long Island to Seattle and starting my teaching career anew in Lake Washington High School. Roxy Davis and I are in the process of finding a place to live but as soon as we do all are welcome. I’ve heard the weather takes a turn for the worse starting in October and stays that way until June, so try to come in the summers, when the sun makes an appearance.”

Martyna Lopaczynska shares, “I’m heading to the Fuqua School of Business this fall at Duke University, focusing on health sector management. Would love to connect with any alums in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, area!”

Amy Rolf got engaged in May in Mauritius to a lovely British gentleman named Adam.

Jordan Kutcher married Justin Grant on May 24 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in D.C. “Afterward we enjoyed a honeymoon in South Africa and Zimbabwe, where we rode an elephant and saw lions!”

Rachel (Bloch) Wolf and husband Michael welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Eliana, on May 17. “She was a peanut at 5 pounds, 13 ounces but is growing fast and we love being new parents!” Rachel returned to medical school at Vanderbilt in August and will graduate in May 2015.

Beata Lobel writes, “I earned my Mb BCh CAO (Irish version of M.D.) from the University College Dublin and am starting residency at UConn on July 1! I will miss Europe but am excited to be learning surgery and be back in the Northeast.”

Yulie Ding and Inga Caldwell congratulate Sharon Man on her upcoming nuptials. Sharon will be marrying Terry Tai on July 25 in New York City. “Best wishes to the happy couple!”

Jenny Wang just finished school at Wharton and is moving to San Francisco in July to work at Google as a product marketing manager.

Miles Yourman graduated from Columbia Business School and moved back to Newport Beach, California—“this time for good.”

Melissa Matulich just finished her intern year of obstetrics/gynecology residency at Northwestern in Chicago. “If anyone is ever passing through the city they should hit me up!”

Gwen Rudie was married on April 26 in Pasadena, California, to Andrew Newman, a Ph.D. classmate of Gwen from Caltech whom she met in 2006 in La Serena, Chile, during her off-term from Dartmouth. “Several Dartmouth alums made the trip to California to help us celebrate, including Christina Behrend, Chelsea Minkler, Stephen Secules, Priya Patel and Erin Demien, as well as Matt Schenker ’09 and Mark Christman ’06. Also in attendance was my undergraduate research advisor from Dartmouth, professor Rob Fesen. It was wonderful to see everyone and to celebrate with such wonderful friends.”

Sofia Faruqi writes of her sister: “Sonia Faruqi married Aamer Hasham on a beautiful summer day in Toronto on June 22. There was great Dartmouth representation, including Duberliz Anaya, Samantha Wu, Phuong Luong, Ashley Henry and Thomas Musser ’05. The bride and groom are enjoying their honeymoon in Nova Scotia.”

Congrats, everyone! Y’all are the best are keeping connected and giving each other shout-outs. Keep it up! ’Til next time,
