Class Note 2007
Issue
Hello, ’07s. Since most of us have or will turn 25 this year it occurred to me that this is the time when we should be in the throes of our quarter-life crises. I hope we can take a cue from the disgruntled Jetblue flight attendant Steven Slater and express our frustrations with flare. Or, embarking on spontaneous travels a la Eat, Pray, Love is entirely acceptable, too. Remember, no carbs left behind!
In any case, I’ll start with mine. At the beginning of the summer I quit my job as a teacher in New York City, sold my stuff on Craigslist, bought a one-way ticket to Los Angeles and couch hopped for a little while. I finally went into a temp agency (because they were the only ones that responded to me) and had them put me to work. I’m sure I’ll figure everything else out, but I was just looking for a little sunshine and adventure. After The Hills series finale I had to channel my inner Lauren Conrad and feel the rain on my skin. Word on the street is that Jacques Hebert is auditioning for the part of Heidi Montag.
It is great to hear that you are also starting exciting new journeys. Linzi Sheldon has left WHEC-TV in Rochester after two years for WSOC-TV, Charlotte, North Carolina’s top-ranked ABC affiliate—according to its website. So if you are in Charlotte, Channel 9 is where you want to get your news.
Pooja Viswanatha and Natalie Kim graduated from law school in the spring and will spend a year in Honolulu, Hawaii, clerking for judges. They’d love visitors! Dave Zubricki started Northwestern Law School this fall.
Jarrett Cato was featured in Time Out magazine for his new job as a music supervisor at a music firm. Dax Tejera took a new job as a producer at MSNBC.
After three long years of traveling and working (very) odd jobs Tom Bonamici will be moving to Brooklyn and attending the Pratt Institute to get his master’s in industrial design. He’ll be living with Ritchie King ’06; any Brooklyn-bound alums should get in touch!
Lauren Hassouni just graduated from Fordham Law School and was recently published in the foremost bankruptcy journal on important issues and recent developments in bankruptcy law—Norton Bankruptcy Law Advisor—in the July issue (No. 7). Her article is titled “The Nuts, Bolts, Carrots and Sticks of the Mortgage and Foreclosure Crisis; and a Suggested Solution.”
Hayley Coleman is moving to London for the second part of her master’s in urban planning
Chrissy Huggins is engaged, and Allie Boyles married Justin Martini ’05 in late July.
Thank you for sending me your updates and please share with me your quarter-life crises so I can write about them in the next DAM Class Notes.
Cheers!
